Informative Tool

Concept

Informative tools in the classroom are resources that provide students with valuable information, knowledge, and support their learning process. These tools include educational websites, digital libraries, reference materials, and multimedia resources that offer a wide range of information on various subjects. Examples of informative tools include online text-based (books, articles, etc.) Visual tools(maps, charts, flow charts, etc.) Interactive tools(interactive websites, VR, AR, etc.) Digital tools(social media, mobile apps, etc.) Reference tools (encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc.). The characteristic features of informative tools include accessibility, reliability, and the ability to present information in a clear and engaging manner through the means of texts, graphics, sounds, images, and videos. By integrating informative tools into teaching practices, educators can enhance students' access to diverse sources of information, promote independent learning, and facilitate deeper understanding of concepts.

The integration of informative tools in the classroom is essential to provide students with access to a wealth of information beyond traditional textbooks and resources. Informative tools support personalized learning, cater to diverse learning styles, and help students stay updated with current information and trends. Educators integrate informative tools in teaching and learning to foster critical thinking skills, encourage independent research, and promote digital literacy among students. Informative tools are integrated into lessons through various methods such as using online resources for research projects, incorporating educational videos into lectures, and guiding students to explore digital libraries and databases. By leveraging these tools effectively, educators create a dynamic and enriched learning environment that prepares students for the demands of the modern information age.

Digital Resource

By learning the concept on informative tool, I was able to create a digital resource material for class I students on the topic 'Occupation'. With a blend of textual and audio-visual information, the PPT animation aims to an interactive learning which takes the learner's learning experience beyond the conventional classrooms.
While creating the animation, I carefully examined the context to be taught about occupation and looked for pictures that are related to the Bhutanese context which can further enhance the understanding of the learners. A You-Tube video was also included. I made sure all the transitions of slides and texts and images had a smooth transitional with appropriate timing allocated to each slide to let learners guess the next slide for an interactive learning experience.
